In recent years mental health has become a priority for many  athletes. Studies have found recently that there is a correlation between time playing and their position and the development of mental health issues.   Therapy for athletes offers services to address the mental, emotional and physical health concerns impacting athletes. Human behavior is often learned and can be measured within the context of family/community in which it has originated. Athletes are no different and often a product of their surroundings, which usually produces a competitive mentality but might not have prepared them for the challenges that accompany their new athletic platform. Athletes can benefit form services prior  to playing, during playing and life after playing.  Assisting athletes in a safe setting  in being able to build trust,  communicate, process feelings, find ways to overcome obstacles, manage stressors, and cope with daily life situations in healthy ways. Therapy services is are here for preventive and or consequential mental health services. The mission is to keep current and former athlete of all ages to focus on maintaining their mental and emotional well being in healthy ways. Ms. Levine is passionate about people leading empowered, connected and meaningful lives. Ms. Levine provides therapy, mentoring and coaching services to athletes and their families. This is accomplished by working collaboratively with clients in identifying need, making changes, and practicing new skills in a safe and supportive setting. Ms. Levine will work on the following issues: depression, anxiety, trauma, impulsivity, suicidal thoughts/behavior, grief, anger, and unwanted thoughts and emotions. Ms. Levine will assist through use of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, mindfulness practices, trauma informed,  and client centered approaches, which include a variety of therapeutic based modalities to help the individual to accomplish their goals. These approaches will work to discover underline influences for concerns, while collaborating to create goals for counseling, and collectively working towards achieving our mission.

Sometimes teens are faced with stressful situations or challenges whether at school, home or in the community. Therapy can help teens develop communication, increase social skills, effective ways to problem solve and have a better understanding of their emotions, it also teaches them the value of seeking help. 

Therapeutic settings can allow children and teens a safe space to process their feelings, and discuss difficult emotions and life situations in a nurturing, supported and non-judgmental environment. Yoga and Mindfulness helps us to remain focused in the moment and allows for us to become more aware of our bodies and of our surroundings, and emotion. Integrating counseling with the practical training exercise of meditation, it is greatly influenced by the emerging research related to the powerful impact mindfulness on the brain.
